More on Lorna Lancaster

Lorna's interests in art and design were established in childhood. Her father’s profession as an architect and mother’s talent for oil painting were major influences for her.

After leaving school, Lorna studied window display and art history, and some graphic design. She qualified as a Window Dresser and continued to paint as a hobby, painting people, still life and animals for many years until it eventually became her career. Lorna specialises mainly in painting horses, dogs and cats; owning these pets in the past has given her a greater insight and knowledge of their anatomy, conformation and different character types.

Having been involved in competition dressage, she understands the importance of engagement, outline and forwardness which gives a horse it’s character and gracefulness.
